Sara (Sally) A. Walker is the Director of Risk Management at Hemenway & Barnes. Sally plays a pivotal role in safeguarding both the firm's and our clients’ interests. Working closely with the Risk Management Committee and firm leaders, Sally is responsible for the design and implementation of operational risk control strategies, systems, and training. Her extensive expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks enables the firm to navigate complex legal matters, client relationships, and business operations with confidence.

She conducts regular risk assessments, analyzes trends, and stays abreast of regulatory changes to ensure the firm remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Sally is also responsible for designing and delivering training programs to enhance risk awareness and promote a culture of risk management throughout the organization.

Sally is a seasoned business leader with 20+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has spent most of her career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts most recently serving as the Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management. Sally has a JD from Boston College Law School and practiced at an Am Law 200 firm as well as serving as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County in the Boston Municipal Court, and clerking for the Justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts.
