One Boston Day Celebrating Resiliency, Generosity, and Strength

April 15, 2021
One Boston Day 2021

One Boston Day was launched on April 15, 2015 as a day to celebrate the resiliency, generosity, and strength demonstrated by the people of Boston and those around the world in response to 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings. The concept of “Boston Strong” remains a call to action for our city in times of adversity and is meant to embody principles of peace, kindness, and hope. This year, the spirit behind the day is as important as ever as we continue to face the global pandemic and issues of inequality in our city and beyond.

We stand with our colleagues in city government, businesses, nonprofits, and the community in committing to at least one act of kindness to mark the day. One Boston Day has a list of (safe) actions you can take, including wearing your mask, thanking a teacher or health care worker, taking a walk in a local park, or making a charitable gift - find more ideas here or come up with your own.

While we may be physically distant from one another on this year’s One Boston Day, we can come together and display the resilience of our city in simple yet powerful ways. We are, and remain, #BostonStrong
