Dennis Delaney, a partner at Hemenway & Barnes LLP, was quoted by Forbes on how an audit can affect a millennial’s future job prospects, as well.
“This stuff lives forever; it’s kind of like the silly tweet you might send out or the thing that you regret, but this has criminal implications. It will follow you,” Delaney said. “So if you have a future employer down the road, and you’re interviewing, they routinely do this sort of due diligence and it’s not hard to figure out.”
