Rob Leahy Joins North Bennet Street School Board of Directors

Robert T. Leahy has joined the Board of Directors at the North Bennet Street School. Hemenway & Barnes has a long history of partnering with the North Bennet Street School. Other H&B attorneys who have served on the Board include, Brad Bedingfield, who now serves on the Board of Advisors, Brian Broderick, Nancy Gardiner, and Charles Fayerweather.

Based in Boston’s North End, the North Bennet Street School’s mission is to train students for careers in traditional trades that use hand skills in concert with evolving technology, to preserve and advance craft traditions, and to promote greater appreciation of craftsmanship. Rob is an attorney in the Nonprofit Group at Hemenway & Barnes. He advises private foundations, public charities, colleges and universities, and other tax-exempt organizations on tax regulations and procedures, contracts, research and licensing agreements, and compliance matters. Prior to joining Hemenway & Barnes, Rob served as Senior Counsel at Northeastern University, primarily advising on sponsored research matters. He is experienced in the administration, regulatory compliance and financial and risk management of federal contracts, grants and industry funding for research, including provisions related to technology transfer and intellectual property.
