MCLE Releases 2026 Edition of Massachusetts Nonprofit Organizations: Hemenway & Barnes Attorneys Serve as Editor and Contributing Authors

Hemenway & Barnes attorneys contributed to the 2026 edition of Massachusetts Nonprofit Organizations, an MCLE New England publication that serves as a resource for lawyers who advise nonprofits.

Brad Bedingfield served as the editor and an author for the publication. He updated the chapter “Unrelated Business Income.”

Eleanor Evans, Jennifer Grace Miller and Emily Wagman served as authors of the publication. Eleanor and Emily updated the chapters “Choice of Entity and Incorporation” and “Board Function and Composition—Practical Considerations.”

Eleanor, Jennifer and Emily also collaborated on updates to the chapter “Limitations on Lobbying and Political Campaign Activities.”

The book offers practical insights into the numerous legal and operational issues affecting nonprofits today. Features include an overview of federal and state compliance issues ranging from formation, registration and organizational considerations to operational, tax and financial reporting strategies.
