Hemenway & Barnes is one of Boston's oldest law firms, tracing its history to 1863. The nonprofit group at Hemenway & Barnes provides a broad range of legal services to a diverse group of clients including educational, social service, religious, health care, cultural and conservation organizations.

CUSTOM PROGRAMS

Many of our clients want a private forum for board members and management that will allow them to identify key concerns and establish processes to address them. We work with your organization to customize an interactive, in-house workshop designed to address your specific needs and questions.
Topics may include:

• Board roles and responsibilities
• Budgeting and financial management
• Investment planning and management
• Fundraising
• Risk management and program reviews
• Employment issues, including staff and volunteer management
• Training for executive directors and other managers

Fees for Custom Programs vary depending upon length of the workshop and the Hemenway & Barnes personnel involved. We work with you to design the most effective and cost efficient program for your organization. Advance planning and development of customized materials provide enhanced training and meeting results.

WORKSHOP LEADERS

Your custom workshop will be led by experienced Hemenway & Barnes professionals. Members of our group have written and spoken extensively on the issues faced by nonprofit organizations and many have direct experience working with nonprofits as staff or board members.
