MARK B. ELEFANTE joined Hemenway & Barnes in 1999 and became a partner in 2006. He concentrates his practice in real estate and business law, with an emphasis on the acquisition, financing, permitting, development, leasing and sale of commercial real estate. He also advises individuals and families in connection with the purchase, sale, development, conservation and ownership of residential property. Mr. Elefante's practice also includes general representation of privately held businesses and non-profit organizations.

Mr. Elefante has served as a member of the Town of Lexington Building Advisory Committee and as a panel member for continuing legal education seminars. He is a contributing author for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publications about commercial and residential real estate transactions and is a member of the real estate sections of the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association, as well as the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts.

He graduated in 1991 from Williams College (cum laude) and in 1996 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (cum laude) where he was Managing Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif Honor Society. After graduating from law school, Mr. Elefante practiced in the real estate and corporate areas at Ropes & Gray in Boston.
